Sound system 2016 R7

Post by Ryannewcomb »

Looking for recommendations on easy way to upgrade stereo in my 2016 r7. It does have the upgraded stereo package but I’m looking to upgrade the sun for sure. Any positive experiences on replacing the sub behind the captain chair with something better? Amp? Etc.

Lots of stereo upgrade threads down in the electronics sections. Several of us did over hauls this past off season. Read up and let ask questions... We did all JL audio... Some used wet sounds. Pick your poison.

I think if you break into your subs amp you can kick up the bass some.

The JL sub they put in is actually a very good sub, you can play with amp settings a bit to make sub kick in at a higher octave. I also changed all the cockpit speakers a bit also. The factory sets them very high to limit distortion, mine a more full range now and sound great. I also added an additional 10" sub in a separate enclosure in the front storage area under the amps. Very simple since all power and signal are right behind carpet wall. Really balanced out the bass in the bow which there is none while underway. My next move will be adding tower speakers, 8.8 JL's and another 400 watt amp.
