Some beautiful boating lakes on that list but I'm surprised that Crater, Rainy, and Whitefish are on that list. I've been in all of them and the first two are damn cold and Whitefish is only warm for about 60 days. I've swum in over 100 lakes in Minnesota, and Rainy Lake wouldn't make my top 50 in the state for swimming. It is, however, one of the dozen best fishing lakes for sure.

I agree, many of these are simply too cold to be on a list of best swimming lakes.

Also, it’s nice to see lake George on here but Canandaigua trumps it by a mile.

Double also, where’s our lake Powell dude. Post that alien planet!

Does everyone hate California that much? 😂 Not a single lake made the list 🤷‍♂️
Sand Harbor in Tahoe, where you can swim in crystal clear 74 degree water and view snow capped mountains all at the same time.

74??? that is an ice bath. Us midwesterners do not swim unless its 80 or above.

Hahaha! 74 is refreshing! We do have some warmer lakes, but I prefer 80 or below, plus the water is usually clearer. We have a lake 5 minutes from our main house called Englebright Lake, it’s a long narrow lake, about 5 miles from end to end. At the far end its fed by a cold feed (about 45 deg) and a warm feed (about 80 deg.) the average temp at the dam end ends up being around 72 to 74, we got use to that as a “normal” temp.

LOL! This lake has boat-in campgrounds, all the campsites have real bathrooms. We camped here before and I watched a guy boat up to the bathroom first thing in the morning, he didn’t tie up his boat and when he came out, his boat had drifted away, he had to take a swim to get it
