While looking for a replacement tach, I saw that Faria makes a GPS speedometer for a reasonable price.
My speedo is slow to register as I accelerate, finally showing a speed once I'm on plane.
It'll show a speed as I slow down, then drop to zero.
Has anyone here replaced their pitot tube driven speedo with a GPS one?
That sounds like the way to go to me...

Re: GPS Speedo
I've been looking at GPS speedos for years. Mines dead on so I never switched. But I would if I was having issues in a heart beat.

Re: GPS Speedo
When does your pitot speedo start to register speed?
It might be that mine is a bit clogged...

My speedo starts at 10 so mine would be the same as A7s.AsLan7 wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2019 12:43 pmMine starts to read at 10-15 mphMike in SC wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2019 12:38 pm When does your pitot speedo start to register speed?

Re: GPS Speedo
Thanks! The tach is wonky too, if I replace the speedo with a GPS model, I might buy a new matching tach as well. Cheaper than refurb, but dial color may not exactly match...we'll see...

Re: GPS Speedo
I have the Faria GPS speedometer (0 to 60). It is great and accurate down to 1 mph (actually I think it reads in smaller increments). Reads the same as the chartplotter.
