Yes, toss the factory pump that comes with the boat. It’s a piece of crap.
I use one similar to AJc’s except we keep it permanently connected to the cockpit remote battery terminals using the alligator clips. The pump is a beast.

The only issue with these air drills to be careful about is over-inflation. The air head pumps are specifically designed to not over-inflate. The red exhaust valve will open when the correct inflation is reached. (under inflation can also wreak havoc on boat tubes). Your tubes will last much longer with this feature as they are inflated to the correct level every time.
The other option would be to get that AirHead protective tube piece and adapt it to the Ryobi.
Btw, both style pumps are LOUD.

Re: Air pump
For the airhead with the alligator clips, where are you guys connecting it? I ended up purchasing it, but then couldn’t find any remote terminal connections. So, outside of directly connecting it to the battery (which is a pain), I can’t figure out a better solution.

Is your engine hatch powered?ryandmartin wrote: Sun Sep 01, 2019 7:23 am For the airhead with the alligator clips, where are you guys connecting it? With the power hatches, extra terminals are located in the cockpit next to the battery switch. This allows folks to raise the hatch when the batteries are removed (or dead). It also works great for connecting that pump.
With manual hatches this isn’t necessary.

Re: Air pump
Shoot, that setup is exactly what I was hoping for. I don’t have a powered hatch, though, so I don’t have the terminals there. Will keep looking to see if i can find a convenient setup.

Re: Air pump
Just add a 12v outlet in back so you can plug it in back there.
