No engine shot as of yet. The PO is holding the boat until I can take delivery. The engine bay is in very clean condition with a very clean bilge. I asked him this morning what size prop is on the boat but he's not near it to check. The alfa One looks very clean with only the bottom inch of the skeg worn. The prop on it now is what looks to be the original black aluminum prop so I was going to look into a SS replacement but I'm not sure of the size.

Is your 5.0 fuel injected or carburated?
Depending on the prop you choose I could always go up a pitch with a SS and maintain the same hole shot and gain top end.except with a rev 4 you will go down a couple pitches. Norm a 17 or 19 pitch depending on gear ratio. Only time will tell. I loved buying SSProps on CL or Ebay. If they didn't work I just resold them. I don't know if I ever paid more than a $150.00 for one except the rev 4.which was by far the best prop I ever had. It was a stump puller on my crownline 202 with a 350 mag in it. The vensura was very nice too. Then the high 5 was my other fav. Those were my 3 go to props. I never got to use a Enertia but I know his with it and love it.

That's still ok. My 99 200 was carbed. I hated it just because of that. Great boat. You will like her. The new owner which I know has owned it for 5 years and loves it.

Okay! It looks like the prop thats on it now is a Turning Point aluminum 14.25X17. What would be a good SS replacement? I don't tow much and like speed.

Assuming it wasn’t a Tahoe boat with 1:62 gear as opposed to sea level 1:47 you could try a 3 blade 19p. But if you can’t find a 14-1/4 to 14-1/2 diameter prop it could actually be slower.
We don’t want the 5.0 to have her toung hanging out on her maiden voyage 😎
Maybe give her a run and we can tune from there. 19 p were more 5.7 engine applications.

Yes I was going to say try a 19 Vengeance is a budget nice prop or Enertia much better more expensive prop. I'm sure akor will say get a mirage plus. I never used one though.

Yup, I had great results with the Mirage on my A1G1 paired to a carbed Merc 260. Would push my heavy 21’ Webbcraft to 50+ and still would plane out great with 8 people on the boat.

Okay new question. I was at the boat today looking for the gear ratio on the outdrive and only found the serial #'s . Gear case # is OL422087 and transom plate serial # is OL299409 No other #'s. This is a 1999 5.0L how do I figure out the gear ratio?

Call mercury marine cust service. They will have it. Do you have any close up side pictures of the drive?. Ok 2 second Google search found the 1.61 ratio.
