Anchor locker mystery

I just posted this question on the Member Intro page, but this seems to be the better page for it.

I own a 1985 Condesa, but cannot figure out where the anchor locker is. (Maybe there isn't one?) I've searched her from bow to stern, and read carefully the owner's manual, but nothing. She's a cuddy with a closed windshield. I can store the anchor in a bucket in the engine compartment. But there are two problems with that: 1) Lugging the anchor, chain, and rode to the bow (and then back to the engine compartment) requires gymnastic skills that I no longer have. 2) More weight in the stern is the last thing she needs. (When full, the gas tank alone adds some 600#'s to the rear weight distribution.)

I asked a few fellow Cobalt owners and that model you have does not have a anchor locker up in the bow.. So from your intro post the bucket storage is prolly best...

Kate when I owned a cuddy I kept a tote from WallyWorld up there. When I needed to anchor from the front I'd go up through the hatch to pitch the anchor, then tie off on a cleat. Just make sure the other end of the rope is tied to a brick or something, or you may lose you anchor and rope at some point. Dont ask how I know..

I also kept an anchor in a bucket in the stern, and usually anchored off from the rear. It was much easier than going up and through the hatch all the time.
