Beautiful boat. Congratulations (bitter-sweet) on the sale. I had one just like her, and now own an '85 Condesa.
What did you use to treat the teak? My teak guy recommended using atf. Anyone had experience with that?

We ummmm.... Just bought teak oil at Lowes, took everything off sanded, cleaned and washed it. Three coats and turned out well..Kate wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2019 11:56 am Beautiful boat. Congratulations (bitter-sweet) on the sale. I had one just like her, and now own an '85 Condesa.

Wanted to keep both, but just not feasible. You need to trailer to Table Rock Lake 7/24/20 for the Classic Cobalt regatta!!!
We will be there next year!!

I used ATF on my old stingray. It works but didn't last long. Plus it sucks if you sit on it with your suit.Kate wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2019 11:56 am Beautiful boat. Congratulations (bitter-sweet) on the sale. I had one just like her, and now own an '85 Condesa.

Star brite teak oil worked great for me. but if the wood is bleached out you will need to clean and brighten it first. they make a 3 pack kit with everything you need to complete the process. I also ended up sanding mine in between the cleaning and oiling process to get a nice smooth finish. once the wood has been restored you will have to continue to oil it very often to keep that rich color. unless its a garage queen like mine and doesnt see constant sun haha.Kate wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2019 11:56 am Beautiful boat.
