Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and guidance. super helpful. the V8 option was something I considered early on, but discounted because of feedback I read and other reviews. I have driven a CS23 with a 280 and 240, but not a CS22. good to have more thoughts on the bigger engine, although I do not believe the $3900 V8 upgrade includes the EVC option, might be another $2K. regardless, the V8 is worth considering again. I'll be boating in North Idaho and Eastern Washington for the most part.

Consider the light by the prop. Your marina can install that for less if you don’t want to lay Cobalt. Also forget the tonneau cover, just get the mooring cover. Those snaps area pain and DO NOT protect your boat as well.

I have a 2019 CS22 with vp240 DP. I am in Arizona with little elevation and the motor is adequate. Tops out at 47 with two adults (43-44 with 6) and gets to 40 quickly. I’ve wakeboarded behind it with 4 adults no problem and I’m 200 lbs. The 280 will give you a bit more on top end. If I could go back, I would have got the V8 just cuz I love power and great for resale but it is definitely well powered for the size and weight of boat. You will be more than happy but if you have a little more to spend, I’d do it.

Top speed I was able to get with my top open, cooler loaded down etc (not bone dry empty etc) and a full tank of gas is 46 mph. If I put the top up and took out all the gear maybe I get to 47 or 48? Over all fine engine.. just not a top speed show off engine.

The mooring cover is absurdly expensive but very, very well designed.

When we ordered our R25 we dumped the tonneau cover (mostly cause we were tired of snaps!) and went with the mooring cover as well.

I wanted to come back to this thread and post the first picture, thanks again for all of the replies and guidance back in Feb. Boat arrived a few days ago, but not without a few challenges. first, the sales guy lied to me three different times about the delivery date, once telling me it was on a truck, when it was actually still in production. I was actually okay with a little delay, especially with the factory shut down, but not okay with dishonesty.

Second, several of the options where not installed, and there were a few minor quality issues that I am finding, that I guess will get fixed under warranty...not sure why the missing items or minor issues weren't caught during prep...otherwise, perfect boat for the family, smooth ride, love it!

well. i have been enjoying every minute, and yes following the break-in rules on the engine, but unfortunately the check engine flashed this evening when I first started the boat. the engine started fine, and the oil psi and temp was fine, but even after shutting down and turning the battery off, when I turn the key to the right the check engine flashes on the digital guage.

thoughts?
