220 Trim/Tilt positions?

I just purchased a 2015 220S and super pleased with it. My previous I/O had a separate trim/tilt option so that the lower unit could be raised higher for trailering. I don't see any option beyond full up trim with the 220. Am I just not seeing the option or ???? Thanks

Are you talking about on your throttle? The trim button then you had the trailer button. Yes that old like well.... Now you just keep holding your trim button up and it will go into the trailer mode by itself. Just push it a bit harder it will go up. You can also get a separate transom trim button. Easy and cheap plug and play switch. You just needs the nads to drill a hole.

Most of the new boats do not have a dedicated trailer button, you just hold the trim switch until the lower is all the way up. On some pushing harder on the up portion of the trim switch will raise the lower a bit farther up into the "trailer" position. Basically keep trimming up until you hear the pump stop and the lower stops moving. That's the trailer position.

Additionally, all Cobalts are wired from the factory for the transom trim switch option. It's a cheap addition, the switches can be found all over the internet, but you do have to drill a sizable hole in your boat to get to the wires. Some people lack the "nads" to do this.

Try what the others have mentioned. Some set ups also have a separate “hidden” switch on the underside of the throttle that is used only for the trailer position. Not sure if yours has this or not.

It happens after awhile, it's like that scene in The Matrix when they are reading the matrix code and can see the world it represents. Eventually you just read BBP as normal English words, takes a bit of time, but stick around long enough and you will get there.

That is very interesting. I did not know that! What if your nads are locked away for safekeeping? ("Trust me, she said." "You'll thank me later, she said.")

Is it just s plug you connect to? I wonder if you could have a loose switch tucked away to pull out and use when needed?
