I’m looking to redo the wood grain dash on my 206.
I would like to have them hydro dipped in carbon fiber look somewhere. If I do the work of removing everything I would rather go with something permanent and durable rather than vinyl wrap.
Has anyone else done this?

Nope, but exactly my plan, except I'm going with burl-wood from grey.

Have you found a company to do the hydro dip?akorcovelos wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2020 6:14 pm Nope, but exactly my plan, except I'm going with burl-wood from grey.
I seem to remember a thread where someone on here did this but I can't seem to find it. I am curious how he did the glovebox as it looks like you would need to do the entire door and not just the stick on wood grain part.
I would have this project done already but I'm not looking forward to taking all the wiring out

I have a friend that does it locally, but there are dip places everywhere, just need to find a reputable one near you. Why can't you just do the wood on the glove box? They can tape off the door so the dip is just on the trim.

Take lots of pics and label all wires prior to removal.
Please let us know how this goes.
I'll be doing something to mine soon, but mine are shot. Clear coat is orange peel textured.

Re: New Dash Options
I wouldn’t say this was hard work but it’s very stressful to remove everything without damaging the vinyl on the dash pieces.
You would think it should just unbolt, undo the wires and pull it off. Nope! You must unbolt the dash pieces to allow enough room for the gauge panel to come off!

I will be removing them, it was just easier to do it outside the boat.xlint89 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2020 11:25 pm Thanks for the tip.
Are you doing anything with the switches?
I am pretty happy with the switches themselves so I will be reinstalling them as they are when I'm done.
Currently I'm trying to find a place that can dip the dash panels and still label the switches.
If anyone has ideas of what can be done please share! I would love to do laser etching for the labels and hydro dip for the full dash.

you nailed it, have them dipped then send them out for laser engraving.BMuu35 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 8:48 amI will be removing them, it was just easier to do it outside the boat.xlint89 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2020 11:25 pm Thanks for the tip.
