I think someone on here did a write up - but if I remember correctly its just a molex plug that you connect the switch to. Maybe a 1 1/2 in hole to get the wires through? I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in.XLI wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:25 amThat is very interesting. I did not know that! What if your nads are locked away for safekeeping? all Cobalts are wired from the factory for the transom trim switch option. It's a cheap addition, the switches can be found all over the internet, but you do have to drill a sizable hole in your boat to get to the wires. Some people lack the "nads" to do this.
Is it just s plug you connect to? I wonder if you could have a loose switch tucked away to pull out and use when needed?

Re: 220 Trim/Tilt positions?
Does anyone know what year the transom switch was an option? I haven't seen any pre-wired plug for one on my '96 but I plan to add one. I was just going to tap directly into the trim pump.

You don't have to tap into anything. It's like a lite mate trailer harness. Unplug and plug it. Pretty simple.akorcovelos wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:23 pm Does anyone know what year the transom switch was an option? I haven't seen any pre-wired plug for one on my '96 but I plan to add one. Re: 220 Trim/Tilt positions?
I looked for the plug-in connector for this last year with a spotlight and mirror and never could find it. I also asked 2 different Cobalt dealers and they had no clue where it was. If anyone has a picture, it would help. I’m sure 72 year old eyes didn’t help.

Dub you have to unplug it at the trim pump. Then the let's call it splitter hits on that plug and the other one plugs into the trim pump. There isn't a loose factory plug just laying around back there.Alaskabound wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2020 8:35 am I looked for the plug-in connector for this last year with a spotlight and mirror and never could find it. Re: 220 Trim/Tilt positions?
That’s the first I’ve heard that but it makes sense. I saw a Volvo engine display at the boat show couple years ago & it had the loose factory plug. No wonder I couldn’t find it. This is a Cobalt plug. Thanks, BB. You’re the man.
