Thanks all for the advice, AsLan, I appreciate the detail and diagrams, helps me make sense of it.

I suppose to go that route, I will need to find the tower/transom speaker wires to remove the Series and put them in parallel....might be a chore, but at least it's a smaller project. I'll see what I can come up with.

You’re welcome my friend.

And yes, in that case I would get a spool of speaker wire.

Cut 4 lengths to run 2 transom speaker wires and 2 Tower speaker wires to your second amp. Just drape the wires and don’t run them thru the boat yet.

Unhook the currently connected SERIES wires from the second amp and your tower & transom speakers. Connect the 4 wires you cut (again making sure your current speakers are 4 Ohms or greater) to that M400 amp and speakers in that PARALLEL configuration mentioned earlier.

Then Test.

Post the results. :D

Jeff, after answering your PM, I’m curious if you’ve got your transom and tower speakers singing louder now? 🤔 🎵🎶🎵

Or should we continue to diagnose. :ugeek:

AsLan, yes, thanks for your message, the edit was helpful. I haven't had time to get back over to the boat to run some test wires yet, but hopefully sometime today or tomorrow. My big worry, still, is that I won't be able to find the transom and tower wires that are currently tied together to attempt to wire the towers together and the transoms together, all in parallel.

Correct and there lies your issue. But if you can just rerun your tower wires your in.

Roger that. As mentioned before, just disconnect those tower and transom speakers from your 2nd M400.
.

.

Then cut four separate pieces of speaker wire to run directly from those speakers to the M400 without pulling wires thru the boat. Just go direct for testing purposes.

Left transom speaker to +- input 3
Right transom speaker to +- input 4

Left tower speaker to input +- 3
Right tower speaker to input +- 4

Test

Let's see how loud they are now in PARALLEL..... and two speakers to each input (making them 2 Ohm). :D 8-)

Yea that too. You should be able to run the wires no problem. This is how easy the wiring is to get at!!
Do you have something around this opening on your boat. Great access to the wiring if you do. As you can see Mr. Nauti is all over this wiring job. Lol

Re: Tower Speaker Help

Ok, to those who took the time to offer your help, thank you, it really is appreciated. After taking another look at it this weekend (warm enough to go out on the lake!! Yes!) I think it is just too much for me to try and tackle. In trying to run the "test" wires to see how they sound in parallel, that even became too much. The transom speakers are not accessible from the back, they both would have had to have been completely removed from the transom...and the tower speakers have a quick release/spinning tower mount that would have had to been removed just to access the speaker wire hook ups...all in all, I just didn't feel like getting that deep into it just to test. Also, if that had worked I would have had to run new speaker wire to all four, which would have been no small feat in itself...there is very little access, at least for me.

I've come to the conclusion that, as you all have said, Cobalt seriously under-powered this system and did not run the wires as they should have...and now do. I will just have to live with it, unless I want to have it professionally done.

Thanks again for all your advice, explanation and help.
