That doesn't look too bad. I was expecting a basket case.
Welcome!
Also, are those gloves or oven mitts?

I’ve cleaned it up a lot, still waiting to get it back from the mechanic. And those are winter mitts, it’s cold here -2 tonight.

Well some news, not sure how I feel about it. I got a call from my mechanic he was saying it has bravo 3 top and bravo 1 bottom. Also It’s running better. A couple of injectors are plugged so were gonna try running some injector cleaner threw it. $400. Per injector, so I was looking for some diy cleaning solutions, I did find a couple ways of doing it that seemed pretty smart. I think before I got the boat the marina took a few things off of it.
Re: Just got my first cobalt. 2001 232
Just keep in mind Cobalt doesn't sell any parts past 7 years from the current models. Engine parts are relatively easy to source, because both Volvo and Merc use a GM motor and marinize it. But boat parts specific to Cobalt will be hard to find. Just thought you'd want the heads up.
And like the others, I was expecting something in much worse condition. Bringing this bad boy back on par should be relatively easy!

2001 262 502 GXI (because it sounds better than an 8.2)

There's 3 ratio's of bravo uppers ( 27/29, 27/32 and 23/30)....that equals 1.36, 1.5 and 1.65 with a bravo 1 lower,
It produces a 1.81, 2:1 and 2.2:1 with a bravo 3 lower....the upper doesn't care which lower it's mated to

I have no idea what gear ratio it is.
On a positive note I got my boat back from my Mechanic this evening. New plugs, wires, cap, sea pump and compression test 160-150 psi on all cylinders. Gonna run fuel injector cleaner to see if it will clean up the injector system. Hopefully I don’t have to replace any.
Also ordered the 400lb lift actuator with 12” stroke. I’m gonna fabricate some brackets to Mount the actuator to. Should be a fun little project.

Take it to a canvas shop and have one custom made exactly how you want it. I’ve dealt with enough “universal” biminis, custom is worth the small cost increase.

Here was my “project” from today fixed the hatch with some stainless. 2 # 10 and 2 # 8 stainless screws. As the existing holes we’re messed up. I didn’t have time to take before pics having kids at home I had to just get it done.

Re: Just got my first cobalt. 2001 232
I forgot to mention that I also used silicone under the stainless plate. It didn’t bother the hatch lid I thought I’d have to take a palm router and dato out where the stainless plate would touch the hatch
Re: Just got my first cobalt. 2001 232
I need someone to point me in the right direction, how do I get the injectors out?
It’s looking a little rough, corroded connectors etc, I want to see what I can save.
Anyone know of good after market injectors? I have a stock 2001 7.4 mpi

Well your fuel rail has to be unbolted. Then as you start in the frt or rear you will have to pry gently under the injector to get it to come up. They are only held in place with orings and the downward pressure from the fuel rail. Just keep wiring your way from frt to back.

I personally would only use oem injectors. Or GM ones. That's me. Starts wrong with them that you are pulling them out. The rail looks a bit rough.
