We enjoyed that MEX-M100BT head unit after upgrading from an earlier Sony Xplod head unit. Worked well with the sony system DR.

...we have since replaced that M100 with a RF unit using transom and helm remotes to boot. I like your thinking on the JL speaker and amp upgrade.

A7 do you think your system sounded better though from the Sony to the fusion. I'm just wondering how much mine is holding the system back?

Ok thanks. Then I won't be in to big of a hurry to change it. Maybe next year I'll do the wet sounds head unit.

I replaced mine with the Fusion RA70N and ARXw/b remotes. I used Wetsounds 6.5 also. Love the upgrade. Huge difference. Not gonna blow anyone out of the water but I don't have a tower with speakers either. I put old and new pics in here. Biggest reason for upgrade was Bluetooth. No pics of wetsounds sorry.

Since I asked the original question - just circling back with what I replaced with - ended up going kenwood marine unit and dash remote. Just wanted to go simple and plug into original hole. Nothing fancy but serves what I need (and maybe more). Thanks for all the replies.
