Yes it does fit nicely all they way down. It looks a little cleaner that way too. Thanks!Tuscany wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 6:38 pmAfter setting the block up that way, and getting eyes on it, do you agree that this is solid and more safe? The block also fits perfectly between the strakes.Snowman8 wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 8:39 pmI dropped the bow stop all the way down today. I also got those unsightly hard water spots off the chrome bow scuff plate before someone called me out on it. It was a nice day for driveway boating too!Tuscany wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 11:15 am
Before you start cutting, and altering.. Trust me on this one and try setting it up the way I am suggesting. No matter how you set up the block, by itself, it’s not going to stop the boat from moving in an emergency braking situation.
Your dealer isn’t considering the bow geometry here. It’s not a 90 degree bow angle. It’s closer to 45 degrees and the degree difference between higher and lower are almost the same. The only option the boat can go in an accident, or emergency braking...in either block position..is UP...
The V block isn’t a stop-all. It’s a catch all. A solid v block and a 90 degree tie down back to the trailer work together making it a stop all, and both are useless without each other. Moving the block back and dropping it all the way down into the tube insures that there is NO possible way the telescope setting will ever fail.
If you brake hard enough to actually move that boat in my suggested configuration of tie down, you hit something in front of you, and the boats on its way to beIng on top of you truck anyway..
Also with the block slightly lower, it will start guiding the front into place sooner when loading.

What shop did the Mod work for you On the fromt steps? I am considering my build choices. My boat came with a Commander series galvanized. It pulls ok, but I dont love the way the boat loads.Tuscany wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 6:52 am Here are some pics of what I’m describing.
Also, their ladder design sucks. I sent mine out to a local fan shop to correct it.

If you are thinking about building a trailer through Loadmaster just send them the pictures of what Tuscany changed on his. I am sure they would make the changes for you as they build the ladder. The two large step pads on my tongue were not standard and I didn’t even know that I was getting them! I just sent a picture to Loadmaster of Tusc’s ladder that also showed his step plates on the bottom of the picture. I told Megan that I want a ladder like this not even referring to the step plates and when I picked up the trailer the step plates were on there too. It was a nice bonus for me!Chrispval wrote: Fri May 01, 2020 10:32 pmWhat shop did the Mod work for you On the fromt steps? I am considering my build choices. Those step plates make loading ten times more safe, especially when barefoot!

I have a semi-retired friend with a fab shop. He came over to my place with a tape and a tablet and I told him what I wanted.Chrispval wrote: Fri May 01, 2020 10:32 pmWhat shop did the Mod work for you On the fromt steps? The biggest issue with the ladder was the angle of the step treads. Treads need to be level, not angled. Then of course, the platform at the top was the most important thing to keep everyone safe when loading and unloading at the ramp.

Re: New Loadmaster Trailer & 2014 R5
Finally got the finishing touches on this weekend. I put the Cobalt R5 logo on the trailer and even put the Cobalt crest on the fronts and back of the fenders. I had the Cobalt logo and the crest’s cut out of a white reflective vinyl so they will stand out a little at night. I even had a couple keep off decals cut and put them on the fenders. Loadmaster fenders are structural so they can be stepped on but I don’t want anyone on mine! I made the keep off’s in a dark gray so they kinda hide unless you are up close.
Now if it would just warm up enough to get out on the water! Driveway and shed boating are getting old!

Re: New Loadmaster Trailer & 2014 R5
The step angle might be a challenge. I haven’t gotten the grip tape on them yet either, thanks for reminding me as I thought I was done. Now I have something do do next weekend I guess.. The weather hasn’t cooperated enough to actually use the boat in the water yet, (it even snowed a little yesterday) so I haven’t used the steps yet. While driveway boating I climb onto the swim platform with a step ladder.AsLan7 wrote: Sun May 10, 2020 6:31 pm .

Looks great. I would remove the LT on the fender and put the cobalt crest and C there instead.

I was thinking about it but Loadmaster asked for some pictures of the trailer with the boat on it. Now that I have the pictures for them I guess I am free to do what I want. Right?Big Block Power wrote: Sun May 10, 2020 7:18 pm Looks great. I would remove the LT on the fender and put the cobalt crest and C there instead.

Yep. It's great advertising for them. Looks very nice. Now go out in the shop and peel them off. All right all right! I will be texting dimensions to my graphic guy. Now I have a project for next weekend along with installing the grip tape! That will be WAY better than washing the windows or staining the deck or nearly anything else on my to do list!

Re: New Loadmaster Trailer & 2014 R5
Quick question,
i totally understand and agree with a boat buckle installed pulling down and back, from the eye. But why is it that boag buckle does not recommend this, and insists it should be directly down. Is it purely because their design is not tested to withstand the break strength at any angle other than 0 degress and dead vertical?
Also anyone have a link to somewhere where i can order the metal plate/ubolts/with eye for me to attach my ratchet strap.
