Build sheet

Post by Chrispval »

Anyone know how to find a cobalt build sheet by HIN?
Only option is dealer to look it up and send it? Or is there a website?

Through dealer or Cobalt customer service.

Ok the dealer gets $2400 for prepping the boat. Holy crap!! I would have a issue with that. Few hundred maybe. They can't Even calibrate a fuel guage. At a 100 bucks a hour that's a few days worth of work. No way it takes them that long. Man sorry but that's crazy. Heck no wonder why they don't need to work on anything else but preps. Ok I'm done. Maybe. Lol

I would be very interested if that is the save fee on every new boat sold. Because if you guys buying these look at your purchase agreement and see if the dealer adds another fee on there. I know on the car business we add like 350 bucks for prep. I can live with that. That's prep wash and gas. And delivery show and tell.

I'm guessing some of the typical +/-25% reduction off "Suggested Retail" that everyone is able to negotiate comes out of the dealer prep number.

Did you get this from putting in your HIN? If so, what site?

I was told by our service manager that EVERY new boat goes through the gel coat shop. Every single one. I would think that’s a contributing factor. It surprised me but that’s what he told me.

This build sheet came from the dealership. They have access to them by HIN. I havent found a consumer website with this information.
