Does anyone know what this part is on the back of the boat? Looks like some kind of open vent. Would like to get this replaced since it’s looking ugly/cracking.

Man she looks great L308.

You can buy that piece for the transom. It is the hole for the transom shower. The switch next to it turns it on.
It is also missing a rubber flap that covers the hole. It has been torn off from that top screw.
Look inside your engine compartment for a semi clear hose with a small shower type head on it. It gets pushed in there.

You can temporarily shine that white piece up with some magic eraser.

Interesting. I had no idea that was for the transom shower. I had someone ask me if I had a transom shower head awhile back and no clue what they were talking about. So what would someone use the transom shower head for anyways?

We use it rarely. It’s more of a saltwater thing to rinse off with freshwater.
Occasionally we will use it if someone wants to warm up if the lake water is cold. The water is naturally heated in the storage area on the port side of the engine compartment.

Video coming soon of part 2. It was interesting to watch the mechanic remove certain items on the boat to access hidden areas of where the screws held the wood parts. Total time to have the swap out was 6 hours. Cost of labor was $500. I would highly recommend getting someone that has boat/auto electrical experience. I’m pretty savvy but this would have been extremely difficult for me. The boat looks factory brand new with wood replacement. Definitely worth the money, and my wife is happy.
