I have read alot of opinions of various models and makes of boats and towing with bimini tops. I am looking for a fellow R series (with arch) owner to give their opinion. Whats your experience with towing with it open and deployed?
My intuition tells me to stay under 50 mph. But isnt it designed for lake winds plus your speed while boating. So 70 mph seems reasonable.

I’m with ya. I have a 2 mile stretch of highway, but I can avoid it And stay on county roads to lake country. Boat is 25 minute (18 miles) to lake. I drove on the county roads at 40-45 and it didnt seem to stress any poles, or stitching at all.

How many times I guess. I do 50 + with mine out but not very long. I guess I would prob just put it out at the lake. Mine isn't that bad. I heard from tgrace98 his is a bitch. Once it's out it's not getting put away till winter.

R7 we have at the shop. Freeway 100 miles out. I’m not sure they have ever folded it.
4 trips and no saggy fabric or bent support rods.
Yes they are time consuming to put up and or away.

Re: Towing with arch bimini deployed
I don't tow with mine deployed. It takes me about 5 minutes to deploy it and a few minutes longer than that to put it away. I moor in the water (without a roof top for protection) for the 2-1/2 summer month season we get up here and I stow the Bimini at the end of each weekend and re deploy it when I come back out. I find it easier to clean bird poop off the cockpit cover than the Bimini top.
