Oil Drain Line
This should make changing the oil in the big block a little easier this fall!

Re: Oil Drain Line
I think I left that in the toilet this afternoon

Just make sure the oil gets hot before you drain it. I used it once on my old boat.

Oh I love that! I had it on my sea ray and it was such a joy to use to change oil. Did u have it installed? Did you have to pull your engine to do?samuri33 wrote: Sat May 23, 2020 4:57 pm This should make changing the oil in the big block a little easier this fall!

Re: Oil Drain Line
Hi AJ! The rubber hose and fittings we're always on my Mercruiser clipped on top of the engine. I changed the oil by sucking it up the dipstick and made one hell of a mess. I decided to unclipped the hose and route it under the bilge pump and will give it a try this fall.ajcampen wrote: Mon May 25, 2020 10:28 pmOh I love that! Re: Oil Drain Line
Hi BBP! Didn't even think about what I was saying when I wrote the original post, too funny. So do you think this will make it easier than trying to suck it up the dip stick when warm?Big Block Power wrote: Sat May 23, 2020 8:56 pm I think I left that in the toilet this afternoon

I had it and used it one time. I could do it faster out the stick. Just me.

I had a diesel truck that took a while to drain the oil. I just started draining and worked on other stuff until it quit.
When it was done, I did the filter and the rest. When I get in a hurry, I miss stuff.
YMMV.
Mike.

Re: Oil Drain Line
Anyone know if recent VP engines have this? Did my first boat oil change. Used top selling manual pump on Amazon. Hose wouldnt make it into the drain pan. Made for a lot of work slurping at the top of dipstick tube.

Re: Oil Drain Line
No I don't think so. With the oil dipstick tube you should need to put a hose down the dipstick. I just screw a wash machine hose on top of it and attach the other end to my oil pump and in 2 minutes it's all out.
