Red Tiny Dash indicator light replacement.

Post by dobone »

Any advice on how to replace the tiny lights below the push switches on the the dash of my 2008 252? One went out this weekend and I can see the wiring is ok, but the bulb looks toast.

I've never had to replace one so not sure how difficult they are to remove, but as far as finding a replacement, if you have any extra acc switches that aren't being used like I do, I'd probably swap the LED with one of those. Looks like a tiny thru hole LED but would have to pull it out to get the correct size and specs

@dobone I've got the same issue with two of the lights on 2008 222... I've checked electrical and it all looks fine. There was actually one that had one of those tiny wires broken, which was an easy fix. The remaining two, though, either both have a bad bulb, a short somewhere in that tiny wiring, or a faulty diode?/resistor? on the 12V+ wire.

Just following up to see if you wouldn't mind sharing how you resolved yours and what parts you used to do so. Thanks!

I just found some of these small lights on Amazon and got them ordered. I guess I wasn't using the right keywords on my initial searches, but I think I got it straightened out now. Guess we'll find out tomorrow :)

On Cobalt 360 they are just pulled out by fingernails (not glued in or anything), on the back there is a red and black wires. I had one wire being pulled out by the weight of the harness. I've pushed it back into the black casing od the LED light and voila - business as usual.
