Utilities are next. Then concrete.

I was wondering about the concrete. A different process here, concrete would have come first.

This is a pole structure which builds different. Concrete is last because there needs to be movement while building.
Once the building is up, my site contractors come back and bring in utilities, as well as tearing things up again and installing underground drainage.
We will install two floor drains, and collect all of the water from the roof downspouts, and tie everything together and pipe it out back to drain all water away from the building.
Then site contractors fill everything back in with gravel, bring the floor and driveway up to grade and compact.
Then, we are ready to pour the floor and driveway.

We should be done by now, but I've had a three man crew instead of their usual five.

Getting ready for concrete. Underground pipes taking gutter rain water out back to daylight are in, as well as the floor drain pipe. I decided on a single floor drain because I'd rather have 2/3 flat floor, we'll just pitch the right bay portion of the floor.
All interior steel is done, and the transom window went in today. Garage doors are in order, and blown in R-36 ceiling insulation should happen within a week or two.
All electric wiring is done, and were just waiting for the floor to go in to finish the interior lighting.

In the rear wall, those two outlets in the center are for my wall mounted TV for when my wife kicks me out and I have to sleep in the boat.

Yea who would have thought. Those trucks can take a toll.mines 70 feet long all concrete. I don't want to replace it anytime soon. It's 13 years old.

Ooooh...that's a good point, T. --collateral damage that you don't really think about until later when the finished product begins to materialize.

Well, the driveway has needed to be replaced for a few years now. We built the house 17 years ago, so the original black top owes us nothing. We were just holding off a few years for this thing to be built, and knowing what a dump truck full of gravel weighs...
When I used to drive truck, a full load of aggregate in a semi usually totaled around 115,000 lbs. Funny the cars that used to pull out in front of me...like I could actually stop.
Note to my friends... don't pull out in front of a loaded dump truck or semi hauling a dump trailer. All have special weight permits. Unimaginable weight, and they can not stop on a dime. Definitely don't let one run over your toe.

We've needed a building like this for plenty of reasons other than the boat. I've been eyeing up that spot for a garage since we built the house. We're just fortunate enough now to be able to do it.
Our original two car garage holds just that, and not a lot more.
