Thanks YT! They pulled the cover from the previous owner's dock yesterday and scheduled to install on my dock next week. Can't wait!
Got to spend some time crawling all over it this past weekend. Changed all four fuel filters just for good measure (including the two $60 in-line filters! ) and changed the oil & filters (all 18 quarts! ).
I amazes me how original this 15 year old boat really is; right down to the cabin pillows, the refrigerator shelving racks and ice cube trays that were still wrapped in packing tape, to the OEM canvas eisenglass storage covers and the original winterizing instructions from Cobalt tucked away in a cabin storage drawer.
Also, had a chance to tryout the holding power of the anchor/windlass. This thing catches a LOT of wind. Dropped anchor in a long cove with a decent wind coming straight down the cove. Anchor held rock steady in the mud bottom and never hinted at moving.
To say the least.... I'm very pleased!
Was going to ask how much those covers run but it looks like you got a deal and it was included with the boat. Looking to get my dad a new cover for his 262 for fathers day so exploring all options! If anyone has an idea on the cost of one those covers, would love to know!

For comparisons sake, just buying a new mooring cover for you boat is probably what $1200-$1500 or so? Your buying the cover and the mechanics behind it plus installation. If you have a larger boat like Smokes this thing is super handy and worth the investment. For boats under 30'....most economical option remains covering yourself with existing covers.

Totally agree with TR. Even for boats under 30', Marine Concepts covers can run upwards of $5k or more. In my instance the cover came with the boat purchase. Unfortunately, it's not a DIY job. It takes, two experienced installers plus a work boat around 3-4 hours for for removal, re-configure the track & hangars and re-hang the canvas. All at a cost of a new basic mooring cover like TR mentioned. For a typical move they're $500 to remove and another $1000 to re-hang. For a new cover MC custom scans your boat as it sits in your slip. Measurements for the boat itself, height above the water, height to structure above, etc. all come into play.
This cover is one of their earlier versions but seems to have held up well. They've developed several other features over the years.
