The gauge wires aren't all that long and the harness is strapped down fairly well, so removing the gauges first is maybe easiest. If others disagree, please feel free to post.

Understanding they need to come out... The question is, what's the best way to get them out? Can I unbolt the entire dash assembly and pull it forward relieving the wiring, or, do I need to get on my back and do disconnect them one-by-one from below, and then remove the new panel...

Here's a couple shots of the panel. Same finish for the glovebox... Gonna look slick!

Yes, you’ll need to unhook everything from the underside then pull the panel out with the gauges. Panel looks great.

I had enough room to pull the guages and take pictures and remove them on my 220.

I’m curious to know how this turned out. Thinking of ordering new panels for my 06 246. Also, which wood/finish did you choose? It looks great.

Hey L11... thanks for coming out of the woodwork. Now make your woodwork look brand new with this upgrade. It’s well worth it. Some folks even change out their steering wheel.

Any pictures of your 246
?

...and officially welcome aboard mate!

Thanks! I contacted Tecnografic for an estimate. I looked at replacing the steering wheel too. This site has been an invaluable resource so thanks to everyone for the help!
