Backstory: Purchased my 1993 Cobalt 22 Traditional from original owner (80 years old) June 10th. I grew up sailing and taking girls to ice cream on the Vermillion River in our 17' Boston Whaler lol
Boat is 100% original with a 7.4 Mercruiser 454 and Bravo 1 with only 230 hours on the boat !
"Her name is Charlie" ( named after our baby girl we lost in April)
Only fixes I had to do was ....I completely flushed the entire engine block and all hoses, replaced impeller water pump, replaced fuel pump and fresh AmsOil through entire system and gear lube.
Built a new custom swim deck out of TREX ( The Teak swim deck was weathered bad and not holding up)
We now have put 40 hours on it in 40 days hahaha
We absolutely LOVE our boat, ive had many offers for double what I paid , but she's not going ANYWHERE.
Every time we see another Cobalt owner at the many lakes around us, they always comment and are so impressed with her and the condition she's in after almost 30 years.
Seems as though most seasoned boat captains love to look at her in the water and ask questions as they admire the boat.
LONG STORY After working for SeaRay in 1997 for a staggering 6mo ( went down for spring break, decided not to come back and got a job at searay)
I am a COBALT fanboy through and through now.
Anyways.....Just wanted to pass along our summer so far, after being scared crapless over buying a used 28 year old boat.
