I have a pretty serious problem with my boat though. The stereo location is mounted just to the side of the 6 1/2" speaker. So the stereo that's in it now, is pretty shallow when it comes to depth. A long stereo will actually contact the speaker basket.

I stopped at the local high end auto installer today. When I explained my situation he brought out the JL MM100S. He showed me the depth, and I pulled the trigger on it. (twice the cost of the RF unit)

Well, it's been a long week end.

First, thank you guys for all the help along the way. Good group of people.

The Bio Kleen seemed to do the trick. Once the interior got out in the bright sunlight, the yellowing seemed to fade away. Interior looks pretty good now.

So what is the vinyl conditioner of choice? The 303 is what caused the yellowing, what are you using?

Installed the new stereo on Friday night. Did have a problem though, the USB was not/is not recognizing my I phone 8. Also had an issue with the volume control knob being unresponsive after start up twice now. Stereo is going back the purchase place, and JL Audio tech was asking if it had the new update? I'm not computer savvy, so I have no idea.....

The boat left the storage facility for the first time. Trailer was made in FLA, Boat was picked up in AL and both came to Cleveland. Transport went good. Got to the Marina and launched the boat. Brought the trailer back to the dock and see one of the trailer brake hoses had come undone. WTF????

So, anyway......

Boat looks great, lots of compliments. Stereo was only thrown together to have something. The main goal was to see if it was water worthy.

She does have a water leak. And I have no idea where at this point. Bilged out about 1 gal of water after sitting overnight. Doesn't sound like much, but it takes a lot of water in the compartment to reach the bilge pump. Not thrilled about this.

And now the moment you've all been waiting for.

She runs beautifully. No stumbling, hesitation, or issues. Fires right up, idles perfect and revs all the way up to 5k RPM.

Installed my reconditioned Mirage plus 23P and pulled a 65 MPH on the speedo with thru hull exhaust open. I didn't have my GPS with me to verify speed as i said, this was a shake down run more than anything.

Really quite pleased with the performance of the boat. Turns pretty good. I was a solid 3 ft over my friend in the passenger seat when i did a hard left turn. Handles the 2-3 chop WAY better than my 21' boat ever did. It will actually be usable, not fun, but won't be stuck on land.

Did a nice sunset cruise and went out to eat on it already. So now I need to resolve this trailer brake hose, water leak, and wrap up this stereo crap too. This boat and everything around it is possessed.

And yes Akor, i will get you a video of the start up.

Had to cut the panel to fit the new stereo.

Had to cut the adapter plate to fit. The adapter plate covers the old DIN sized hole of the previous stereo

Installed another volume knob for turning up or down the tower speakers. The other one turns up or down the soon to be installed sub

Thought I found the leak. Ironically, that extra hole I drilled into the boat looking for my lost screw, was where I found a trickle of water coming in from.

There's that aluminum plate inside there that came detached, and seemed like water was following it. So i assumed there was a screw or something that was leaking. When I trailered the boat, I was extremely disappointed to see there is nothing penetrating the hull back there.

So I filled her up from the inside and waited to see where it came out from. Nothing leaked out.

I had so much water inside I was starting to cover my house battery fuses.

Did I mention this boat hates me?

Sounds like you could have bellows leaking or shift Cable boat. I hope you didn't dunk the boat with the brake line open. I'm sure you found that before that. Glad it started and ran good. 5th fuel pump was the charm?
I'm sorry but I might seem that bad boy if it was my and giving me all the headaches. But hey maybe you can get them all squared away. Your a patient man

Hey, great progress! There will always be something to fix, but at least you can use it now! My speedo is surprisingly accurate to my GPS, so 65 is likely still 62-63 gps. Makes me want to swap to a B1 as I’m against a 60mph wall with B3.

My speedo is fairly accurate at lower speeds, but runs high on the top end. Last time I saw 65 on the factory speedo I think my GPS was showing 56-57. But I'm sure each is a little different.

That's cause you keep your blow hole cleaned out by running wide open all the time.

I was told to keep fresh gas in it all the time.
