How he kept that cowboy hat on I have no idea.

He's been gone now almost 30 years.
I'd fish with this dude.

I think your dad beats all of ours.lol

I's always admired Cobalts on our lake. Tom Golisano bought the property next to ours in the 80's and he had the first Cobalt I ever saw. I loved it. I wondered as a kid if I'd ever own one.

Fast forward about a decade ago when My Aunt bought this thing of beauty. 1997 220 with a 5.7 GI. Here she is this past weekend. Still looks great.

Bonus - Blue Heron on the neighbors dock.

One more thing about this boat - You have to press a button and hold it down before engaging the trim. Crazy annoying. Anyone deal with this?

Only when the limiter is not working and you have to use " trailer " or full up mode...

That would be tricky all the time

It was infuriating! I was trying to explain the nuances of trimming. I explained there was definitely something wrong with it. Sending her to my dealer for a dozen small fixes that I saw.

Update - Taking the 220 to my dealer to fix trim and bang out some dings in the props. Hopefully she won't "shake" so much.

This one needs the attention to get back in shape. There's a dozen things I spotted that my dealer will get right that have been neglected because of turnover at one particular marina that I won't mention because they suck.

Very well crafted sentence structure.

You can see where it sank once in the corner pic due to leak overnight at the dock!

Then his second love..1969 Donzi sweet 16. He taught me everything I know. Thanks DAD!
Oh i really love the sweet 16.
How fast do they run with a 5.7?
Do they have much China walk?
Maybe i get one side my cobalt.

Fozzy, our 16 was powered by a 4.3LX six and would hit 60 on GPS. A 350 in her would certainly push her into the mid 60's. You need one! :D

Since it was our first boat, it taught me early on how to drive a true deep vee (24 degree constant deadrise) as you had to be able to balance her on that chine at speed--which was all about finding the perfect outdrive trim height --balancing maximum speed w/ chine walking and porpoising. A fun endeavor.

Of course, I was only allowed to do this when I dropped my wife and first child off at the ramp to "fetch" the trailer. I would go back out alone and max perform her. No way would I attempt that with them in the boat. :D

...after "graduating" from the Donzi...we moved onto our 2nd love--a Fountain 24 Competition Series w/ a 502Mag. That was a real Ferrari on the water...yet we mostly used it as a station wagon. :D

According to the latest Donzi brochure, the Dry Weight (basically no motor) is 1,218 kg (2,686 lbs).

Currently the largest engine offered for the new 16's is a 4.5L 250hp. This will add another 345kg (761 lbs) equating to an estimated 1,600 kg total.

Maybe you could find a used 16 with a 350 and captain's call, Fozzy. :D (we love spending other people's money) :D

Here's one right near you in the Netherlands! :D :D :D
