Good bye 220

Post by dustinm »

It was a bittersweet moment last night as we dropped off our 97 220 to a good friend. Now to order a new one when our salesperson gets back from LOTO. I have been trying to convince my wife to let me get a 07 08 252 with a BB but with no avail.

One thing that is weird is its listed on the title as 19' but he had us measure it last night and we came up with 25'. Were they that big back then?

Sounds like you had some great memories on that Cobalt DM. I'm sure someone else will continue the tradition.
Onward and upward my friend.....and mention to your better half that the Big Block V8 will spin at less RPM's while cruising which means it's quieter and she will hardly know it's back there. (once you convince her that the '07-'08 252 model is like a fine wine that never ages....like her) 8-)

Sorry but why did you ask her or say anything to her. Show her the boat. The BB means nothing to her.
The length on the title can very. It really depends on what the person before you put on it.
Let's get this deal done.

As long as a boats in my garage my wife could care less about anything else. Boat shopping is all me. She has 1 single request and so far I have granted that. It's a normal chair on the port side. No flip up back rest chair. She just didn't like them. Yes soon she won't have a choice.

We have a couple different dynamics going on. This next boat will be the first ever boat that we have borrowed money for. This is her hobby, I would be perfectly fine doing something on wheels or tracks. After she signed up for some Facebook boat groups she said we are not having the problems she sees with other 10 year old boats - evidently there are a lot of people that dont do any maintenance and then wonder why engines overheat and drives lockup. And the last(her words) - why would we pay the same price for a 10 year old boat vs new one and how many more percentage points will we have to pay for the older one.
I think I will be just as happy with a direct injected 300HP 5.3 VP as I was with the carbed 454. We may even be able to save a hint of gas without the captains call. I also wont mind not having to do major maintenance on the old girl and just go boating.

Yep 16 with mine. Best thing I ever bought 😂😂

I wouldn't trade her in for nothing. It took me a few tries but she's worth it.
