Anti compliment

I’m use to having older boats that are all shined up then somebody saying “wow, that looks like a new boat!”. So, yesterday in the water a guy in a 2006 220 Cobalt pulled up beside me, looked at my 2017 220 and said “what year is that, a 2002?”. I must be doing something wrong!

I saw the title to this thread and couldn't resist opening it.
I think it's pretty funny.

On a side note, I'm starting to look at the differences in colors and stripes used on Cobalts. Getting a better idea of age without asking.

I walked down the dock last weekend to start dropping the lift and there was a renter in the slip next to ours. The guy was knocking on the side of our hull towards the back of the boat telling his son he couldn't believe it was all Kevlar

I’ll be 73 next week and this guy was about the same age, so no fisticuffs were involved. Actually, he was a great guy and his boat was beautiful. Looked a lot like Jeff & Katie’s (Nauti’s), red with a tower & had a BBP 8.1, which sounded sweet. After I explained that mine had closed cooling, easy drain, variable valve timing, and swim step platform, it was all over! Think I even offered him a cold beer!

All is good.
