Secondly and perhaps more importantly, what type of discount (%) off MSRP are you currently seeing from dealers? Seems I paid about 70% or so of MSRP last few Cobalts. Is that still about right? The R6 Surf configured right at $250K (basically all options and 430hp), so hoping 30-35% off is realistic.

Thanks
If you could send me pictures and information on your R5 I may know someone looking for an R5. He also lives in Minnesota.

Yes boats sold well last year and so far into this year! That and manufacturers seem to be limiting supply because it’s harder to produce product in factories due to COVID and not enough supply for parts. That will keep the discounts to us small. I spoke to one yesterday and they said 15%. If order today I’d be lucky to see my Cobalt by end of July!!!

Hey bcv_23. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Thanks for the update on your buying experience so far. It sure is a seller's market right now...both in the used and new markets.

What options did you decide to order on your R5? Engine size?

Looking forward to your pics...someday. Hopefully July will be here before you know it. In the meantime you have plenty of time to start an intro thread. :D First Cobalt?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Not yet. Can't get the right deal on new boat, so likely to stay on the sideline and let the market cool off. If I were without a boat, I may feel differently.

Dealer has one R5 Surf in stock now, but wife likes R6 lines better! It’s under 30 degrees this weekend so no decisions will be made.

Late May, 2019, wife and I spent 24 hours without owning a boat. Bought off show room floor next day.
