2013 242 w/Volvo 380 power steering fluid leak

I have already replaced the steering actuator but still have fluid in the bilge. I can’t find any leak around the pump itself. The trim tab pump is not the source. Any other places I need to look?

Are you sure it isn't engine oil?

2 years ago I had the same thing and it turned out that the steering ram was leaking which we replaced, but still had fluid in the bilge. Turned out it was the front main engine seal as well.

It is red and for certain is PS fluid. I have to fill the pump from time to time..

I had to replace the hose clamp which is a real pain going to the power steering cooler. So I'm saying that is where your leak is. On the back of your starboard head. The pwr str cooler is bolted to the back side of the head. Feel around the for it and check the clamps. They are just punch tight type clamps. You would have to cut them off and replace them with HD screw type clamps. Good luck.

Now that is making sense to me. Just so I am looking in the right spot, it’s on the back part of the motor, more on top, than underneath? Thanks for the direction to look.

Yes it's bolted to the back side of the head right next to some really sharp casting that will keep slicing your arm everytime you reach back there

Found the leak. It is from the steering actuator from around the large black cylinder and not one of the normal arms.
