How to lower R series Arch
How to lower R series Arch
Our R5 ha the Arch with Bimini. Its anchored with two large hand screws. Even after removing the screws, it is almost impossible to move. There are some cables that still keep it largely in place.
Nothing in the manual or online I could find.
Is there a release for those cables somewhere?

Re: How to lower R series Arch
That is all I did to lower the arch on my R3. I only did it one time just to see how it worked. It took a little effort at first to get it moving and then it was very easy to lower. If I remember correctly I grabbed the middle part of the most forward facing bar and pulled down.greenhut wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 4:56 pm Our R5 ha the Arch with Bimini. Thanks - did it stay down? I had to put so much force on it I felt like I would break something.Kyboater wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 5:42 pm That is all I did to lower the arch on my R3. It did, but felt like it would bounce up pretty easily. I didn’t leave it down.greenhut wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 5:44 pmThanks - did it stay down? Re: How to lower R series Arch
Personally I would just back it in the garage and use the auto lowering function

Yes just pull from the middle once you loosen the 2 knobs on each side. It will lock once it gets close to the windshield. Then to unlock just push down and it will unlock

Re: How to lower R series Arch
We lowered ours one time while coming back in a bit of a rain storm on the river. The bimini fit right across the top of the windshield, and we were fairly out of the weather. Never noticed a place that it "locked" down, it did take some force to bring it down, but it was not too much to hold in place.

Re: How to lower R series Arch
I'm beginning to regret not getting a folding tower, ya'll...the new R6 Surf measures FOURTEEN FEET from the ground to the top of the light. That's way way way taller than I was expecting.

Bimini needs to be retracted to reach the locked positiongreenhut wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 7:24 pmOh cool - will the tower come all the way down with the bimini still up?tgrace98 wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:54 pm Yes just pull from the middle once you loosen the 2 knobs on each side. Re: How to lower R series Arch
on my R7, yes you can lower it with the Bimini up. once down there is a metal latch near the pivot point that keeps it down. I believe the latch is on the starboard side of the boat.

I should probably look for that. The one time we used ours, it was raining, and I surely didn't want to get wet while boating!Norris_Boating wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:55 pm on my R7, yes you can lower it with the Bimini up. once down there is a metal latch near the pivot point that keeps it down. Re: How to lower R series Arch
Tried lowering the arch on our 2020 R5. As some mentioned, on the starboard side, there is a locking latch. Unfortunately, cant even come close to locking it with the bimini raised. Not even unlatching the small (6" or) bimini poles allowed enough room.

Also, if you want to bring the engine up to operating temp in 15 seconds, unpin and push down the blue knob to engage the automatic impeller buster in the engine bay.Big Block Power wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:35 pm Personally I would just back it in the garage and use the auto lowering function![]()
