Cant wait to see her when you get her. That chap is a good boat and a good model. I Almost bought one when I bought my crown.
You will enjoy the Cobalt. It will be perfect for 4 people. You will hang out on the platform more than any other spot anyways. Not sure if your chap had one?

That's what I want to hear! haha! Yes my Chap had a great extended platform too, we generally are just on that most of the time. Just hoping the Cobalt feels like a nice upgrade with the newer interior, lower hours, better ride, etc. We shall see, im rolling the dice on this one a bit cuz I loved the Chap too and its about a $19k difference from what I sold it for and what I am buying this 212 for, but what the heck life is short. Can wait to check in here when I have it! This forum is great! Thank you!

My wife actually liked the storage better in the 202. So did I for some of it. Cobalt got rid of all of the side storage. So you have to lift some cushion Up to get at anything. We loved stuffing towels and her purse and shoes on the side. Can't do that in this one now. Other than that Cobalt crushes it. But I think Chap was above the ride of my 202. The 202 was a wet ride and a harsh one. But it was fast and fun to drive. I could get 63 out of it with a 350 mag. Now I struggle to get 60 with 496. But the ride makes up for it.

Oh good to know about the side storage, my wife likes that too...so good to know ahead of time. We are excited....only thing I am kicking myself for is the price I sold my 2003 Chap for, haha. This winter my co-worker/friend asked me what I would sell for and I just flippantly said $15K because that was the Nada value. And she said yes and offered cash. Of course I hadn't done any research and wasn't thinking about hot the market would be by spring. So I think I probably left some good money on the table there, ugh! But it didn't have a trailer, had some big hull scratches, needs a new gear box, carpet was pretty worn, had 675 hours and the bow cushions were starting to rip. Sooooo…...I do have some sellers remorse overall as I loved that boat.....but Im hoping my first Cobalt 212 will help me to forget about underpricing my old one.....LOL

Thanks so much for the continued insight....I love talking boats and this is very helpful as we prepare to go drive it/pick it up next week.

Yea I’m thinking I left $3-$4k on the table since my Chap has a 5.7GI in it too. I messed that up, $15k wasn’t enough. I hope my friend who bought it appreciates my mistake and at least pays for a few beers for me, ha! I’m such a bonehead. Ha Yea cobalts (and used boats in general) are impossible to find in the Midwest! I’m getting mine from northern MN. It’s literally the only cobalt in that 2007-2010 year range available all winter that I saw (In the 212 or 222 size). What an insane market

Yes it is. I might list mine in August we will see. It will be at my I don't want to sell it price but if you pay that much I will sell it to you. My 202 came from Minnesota. This 220 cans from Kansas. But spent its life on Beaver.

Well at least I know I wasn't just missing boats for sale somewhere, haha. I looked for almost a year for a 222 or 232...nothing. so I just jumped on the 212 when I saw one. Looks like the engine in mine is the 5.7GXI....pretty pumped about that, I was thinking it was the 5.7GI, ha. It probably doesn't make that much of a difference at all performance-wise, but it feels good to get a little surprise anyways
