How long to build it?

Ordered my R5 in September. Build date was Jan 5th. It came in last week. The dealer said we were lucky because Cobalt notified dealers last week about delays in obtaining parts to build boats. Good luck, the wait is painful!

Has anyone heard anything specific in regards to specifics about delays? I ordered an R8 Surf in December with a build date in early May.

I emailed the rep after seeing some of the comments in this thread. They are figuring 5-6 weeks for our families April build.

Try calling in the middle of the week if you would like to talk with someone at Parks. It seems that place is the number one tourist destination for the weekends. I can only imagine the amount of questions they field and the quality after people have been around back for a few hours... My guy is pretty good if I can talk with him on the phone, the only problem is that the dealership as a whole has no idea when Cobalt will get some crazy glue in to finish our boats. When I contacted the factory back at that posting, that was the lead time, but as you guess that was thrown out the window. I wish Cobalt was as quick to respond now as they were in March or if they would even have automatic email replies set so you would know they are out for a week of vaca. The last time frame I was given was a month behind, I take that as the earliest we will receive our boat with everything thing else happening.

So how did you order your CS23? engine? colors?

I went with the Volvo 280hp V6. Never test drove one since they had none at the end of the season, but hoping it will be quite a jump up from my rinker 190hp single prop

I think the VP 280 will have enough power for most everything you can do on a lake and its only 20hp less than a V8. Its going to be a rocket compared to the 190 single prop. You also wont believe the grip of the dual prop - passengers better be holding on the holeshot.

Bayside will be an easy color to keep clean and will have a very classy look. Any boot stripe to go along?

Maybe I will see you there when we are finally able to pick them up?
