Age Old question---what's your favorite brand of oil

Mostly Mobil One in our vehicles but I really like no oil or hardly any service on our Tesla that has 89,000 miles. We spent a total of $400 in service, maintenance, and repairs in over four years of ownership. I’m at the Rover dealership right now getting and oil change, rotation, and cabin filter and they are charging $230. I normally wouldn’t take it to the dealer for the oil change but there are some software upgrades and a recall so it’s just easier to get it all done at once. The Range Rover diesel takes 7.5 quarts of oil. I’ve been using the Motorcraft 5W-30 diesel spec oil for the RR that is made by ConocoPhillips since Ford makes the engine and it’s what they recommend.

I just switched to the Mobil One ESP 5w-30 for my Mercedes Diesel. ESP is Emissions System Protection and designed for cleaner DPF.

Important oil.
Puglia, (pool-ya) which is an XV Italian oil pressed from fully ripe olives.
That’s the brand that we use at home. Gold color instead of green, and a nice little bite to it. .

Not important oil.
Automotive oil?
People toss money at it with a thought that one is truly better than another….thinking there is somehow a huge difference when IMO, it’s simply advertisement brain washing at work.

TV, radio… Advertising is the science of mind manipulation. We all see it and do it in our various professions. Advertising firms have drawn lines, comparisons, developed targeted formulas like high mileage, extreme use etc. when it all boils back down to the same thing..lubrication of a simple road engine and parts.
Personally, oil is oil. I buy whatever brand my guy is using during an oil change if fine by me. I do however choose syn oil because of one reason, temp stability in severe cold, but brands? Couldn’t care less.
