The way I see it, by the time I can afford it I’ll have to upgrade all that stuff anyway. Just give me a good Hull with good power and take care of it!
50 years of Pack building boats. It's Bu now. Change is here!!!BobRae99 wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:55 pmLet’s wait and see how the boat handles rough water. There is a lot more to it than the deadrise at the transom. After 50 years of building boats, I have faith that they know a thing or two about hull design.Table Rockin wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2020 9:26 am But damn if you dont want a surf model that 18 degree deadrise has gotta be disappointing.
Base price up $9,000 plus because of the weight gain a 430 as opposed to a 380 might be preferable, so that adds cost. I’ll wait to see what the prop charts show before deciding on appropriate power though.TexasCobaltGuy wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 12:39 pm Design is up for R6

And that is for the regular model. The surf version will probably be close to 250k msrp loaded up. We all know no one pays msrp. But you catch my driftakorcovelos wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 2:03 pm There is no doubt of Malibu influence, just go look at some pics of the 2020 25 LSV. Still a nice boat, other than that horrible helm, but WOW, after freight and prep not sure if it’s worth nearly a quarter MIL...

But what will a nicely equipped R8 cost?sailor55330 wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:50 pm 180k....now assume your can beat up a dealer for 25%. That’s still $135k before taxes and trailer. So it’s basically $150k boat when equipped more reasonably. $5900 for the stereo upgrade...
I have seen nicely equipped r7’s for less than that. I’m officially out
I don't know Bob. But I bet by July of 2021 you will be able to tell us what yours will be spec for and how muchBobRae99 wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 5:58 amBut what will a nicely equipped R8 cost?sailor55330 wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:50 pm 180k....now assume your can beat up a dealer for 25%. I doubt that. If I move up in size to the R6 that would be my last move. I wouldn’t opt for a surf model either. My kids (10, 13) are so far showing little interest in wakeboarding, or surfing. My daughter water skis though. I’d like to see the prop charts for the R6 though. Cobalt is presenting the new hull as more efficient with less wetted surface so maybe a 380 will give it similar performance to the current R5, helping to bring the cost down a bit from my build.Big Block Power wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 6:16 amI don't know Bob. It’s about a 10k jump from the r5 to the r6. So I would assume something in that neighborhood from the 7 to the 8. Unless they go crazy with the 8 and offer twins.BobRae99 wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 5:58 amBut what will a nicely equipped R8 cost?sailor55330 wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:50 pm 180k....now assume your can beat up a dealer for 25%.
