Never know you could have a voltage drop on the neg cable from engine to the battery also. Check that to see how clean it is.

Good call. Will check that too.

Ordered a small 1 ft x 4 ft sheet of teak vinyl wrap for $10, going to attempt to redo one of the dash panels as a sample to see if this is a cheap viable alternative to having new panels made.

Moved remote wire, problem solved. 10.4v before move, 11.4 after. Cranked it up, sounds pretty good for a $70 investment. The wiring for the amp cost more than the head unit lol.

Reused factory loom for the CD changer (removed changer and it's enclosure), turned out pretty clean. Interesting observation based on subwoofer orientation/location...the bass is pretty loud everywhere in the cockpit, but virtually non-existent in the bow. Weird stuff. I wonder if it has to do with the location of the sub in an area where the hull is getting narrower, so sound waves are reflected more rearward.

Is the woofer right against the hull? Maybe there's no air space to the bow? I know mine has plenty of dead space.
Glad the cutting out is fixed.

There's about 1.5" clearance at the bottom and more at the top. There is airspace open to the bow. Not really worried about it, just thought it was interesting. Sounds good where I'll be sitting :)

I mean that's the most important place right?

Finally got a chance to check out the LED docking lights I installed a couple months ago, they work pretty well!

Oh, I checked the bilge before I covered her up for the night....dry as a bone. Leak fixed! Yay.

Just as a follow up to the leaks, the boat spent about 92 hours sitting in the water at Havasu and all I got was a tiny dribble when I pulled the plug. Nice! After sealing up the holes that Swim Platforms left open I sent them an email with pics letting them know what I found and never heard back. I wasn't asking for anything but I was a bit surprised that there was no response at all. Oh well. I'm happy with the platform itself, it's been really nice to have on the boat.

So glad you got this fixed, t550!

I remember following this thread before I deployed back in November. I just re-read the entire thread. Great job documenting and investigating your leak-- with pics. I'm like you...don't want any water in my bilge. Drives me nuts if their is something leaking that should not be.

Your outdrive turned out amazing. So glad you went that route.

I must say, your updates are certainly paying off--both in performance and looks.

...and beautiful family pics too! The smile on their faces says it all.

Thanks A7!

As a matter of fact, I enjoyed painting the drive so much I decided to drag it through the mud at Havasu so I could do it again    :( :x

Nooooo!

I’ve done that before too (I haven’t met a Boat owner who hasn’t)...ya just hate to do it right after you paint it!

Ughhh, another white collar problem. 😜

...and she's back :) bit of sanding and a few fresh coats and good as new. Also sprayed some muriatic acid on the prop, that cleaned it up pretty decent too.

Oh, and what do you guys think of these "waterproof" tail lights? Bought on Amazon. Seller replaced them for free, and I took the new ones apart and put some 5200 around the part that's supposed to be sealed. Hopefully the new ones will last longer.
