Called Cobalt today. They began building my R5 on Tuesday the 17th. Cobalt indicated it should be at dealer in 4-5 weeks.

The long awaited first day. Shes got a nice throaty sound...definitely better hole shot and acceleration than my old boat.

I just stop when I see the gas guage moving torward empty.lol
Last year I ran her pretty hard running with the big boys. They'll hold together. Really you don't go more than ten or fifteen minutes.

Weight seems to make the biggest difference.
I may get 51 with a 75 gallons of gas, 10 gallons of water in the tank, a few gallons of whatever in the head tank and usually 4-5 people.
Ive gotten 53 with a light load and lower on fuel, but I have to be careful because my boat always flashes red line when lighter. It must be propped for a lot of passenger weight.
I hit 57 once, but is going with a fast river current cheating?🤣

I did that with only 2 people in the boat, 80% full fuel tank, normal amount of gear....and on water as smooth as a babys behind. I dont have water holding tank.

TR I bet there wasn't much boat traffic? Prolly only the fisher dudes/dudetts. My boat always ran faster in the cooler water.
