Maybe you’re right, maybe not. Cobalt has a pretty broad lineup of boats, maybe the go fast boats will be the CS series and the R series will slant towards luxury. But, I wouldn’t count performance out on the new R series yet. Every review I’ve read on the current R series gives it high marks for its ride performance and handling. I’m thinking Cobalt is looking to improve the boat, not take away what has made it successful. But .... who knows what Malibu is thinking.

I agree that an 18 degree deadrise and more weight in the stern could improve surf wave quality and the market seems to be trending towards surf these days.
