The Volvo is loud on its own. CC leaks when closed so it has a unique muffled sound when closed.
I like the Volvo GXI open idle.. here's a video with one on a warm up stand.. great idle

Let's drill some holes buddy!!

Small blocks... especially this one runs excessive RPMs IMO. Kinda "wound up" like a rubber band, even at low speeds.. Any vids under power?
No, I'll try to get a video of that this weekend.

Here is how my Mercury sounds. The Volvo sounds. Bit better and deeper to me in the vids. https://vimeo.com/277208519

Albeit, under a bridge here so kind of cheating. But that’s why I recorded it, echo sounded really cool.

I personally like it but can say that it would probably be a really low priority for me after having it if it didn’t come with my boat. I’d trade it for a tower or aquamarine pads any day.

May be late to the party, but I have had it on both of my cobalts.

'99 232 with a 454 and now the most recent one, '03 220 with the 6.2L

The 454 sounds amazing.....

All of my boats will have them. Its just one of those things...

Simply having a captains call switch is illegal here in MN. I got caught using it by the state DNR 10-12 years ago and paid the $172 fine. I haven't used it much since. I was boating on the Whitefish Chain (MN) a couple of weekends ago and an eagle eyed DNR officer saw my flappers through his binoculars. I did not have it on nor was I doing anything which would make me stand out among the many boats out on the water. He pulled me over and asked if I had the switch. I said "yes" and was given another ticket. $285 this time. I am tempted to go to court and try to explain the situation but I do have the switch (since disconnected) and having a working switch is illegal.

When I picked up my boat from MD, they had the solenoids disconnected. Seems like a simple way out. It's just a plug on each side. Nice thing about that, if you want to use them, plug 'em in and let her rip, then unplug them again. :)

Either way, seems like a dumb law.

Sheesh. I love passing Sherrifs with the CC on.. they like it to. Well I tell myself that😂

No noise or speed limits on the Delta.

None here either. I can understand it places where people live on the water, but even then, I'd think it would be limited to sunset-sunrise or just within 500 ft of shore or something like that.

It's honestly not that loud, especially with a swim platform.

Yeah, I'd be cranky about a ticket for a switch. You can probably get out of that one beerguy. Sounds like the officer had his panties in a wad and needs a hug.

Seriously, I'd fight that. The boat has it installed, but you didn't have it on. That's like saying "Sir, you are driving a car with a big motor that can exceed the speed limit, so I'm writing you a ticket for going to fast". But I wasn't officer!
"Yeah, but you might, so here it is."

That's bogus
