For me, I had already loaded Navionics charts on my iPad, It was a really easy process to transfer them to the SIMRAD unit.

Ytmsn wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 3:46 pm It looks like the Simrad comes with Navonics and Insight charts. Again, I've only played around with it for 10 or 15 minutes but it seems like Insight maybe what I end up staying with.
YT have you ordered the extra C-MAP or Navionics charts yet or are you going to stay with the Insight the unit came with for a while?
Driller I really have no idea. Last night in the 5 or 10 minutes I messed around with it I discovered that Insight and Navionics was on it, but Insight showed the channels and topography and Navionics didn't. So... I figured Navionics had to have something else involved, and of course, I haven't even picked up the Manuel yet, let alone crack it open. And I dont know what a c-map is or where to order it. I was thinking I could get whatever I need thru the innerweb And just download it?
What did you do?

I am going to go ahead and try the ipad/navionics combo and see how it works. I mean, I already own the ipad.. so why not? Then If I do not like it, I will move to a garmin touch screen device.

I don't use it much but the Navionics app on my phone, stuck to the windshield with a RAM mount has been fine the few times I've done it.
