Mostly boat in lake Conroe as we’re in Houston. It’s convenient and that’s about it.
Will probably be coming up to lake Travis a few times this summer.
I've been on Lake Conroe a couple of times looking for a boat to buy. I spend about half my life it seems in Houston. If you can plan on coming to Lake Travis during the week or early in the weekend. Fridays are still good, but it gets really crowded on the weekends and holidays and like Lake Conroe with the bulkheads, the sides of Travis are all limestone. It can really get rough with a lot of boat traffic. Especially on the dam end.

I haven’t been up to lake Travis in probably 10 years but remember it can get choppy.
Conroe gets terrible on weekends. It’s better in the northern part of the lake. But once the wind picks up, the ride is not so comfortable. My wife might complain sometimes but nothing beats being on the water

Another Howdy from H-Town in Texas! If you every get a chance to motor that gorgeous A series over to Lake Livingston perhaps I’ll see you out at Pine Island.

Choppy: A term mainly only used by Texans to describe a water state which has been churned up by too many cabin cruisers and surf boats on a lake which is sided by bulkheads or straight limestone cliffs. This condition will beat the crap out of your boat and your passengers regardless of boat speed. Some Northerners refer to this water state as waves or swells but in Texas to qualify as a wave it has to have significant wave height of at least 7’ (as we know, everything is bigger in Texas). This chop is multi-directional as the waves bounce off the sides and can best be described as ski moguls on the water.

will probably check out Livingston this summer. Haven't been out there in a few years. Was with my cousin on his Malibu which ended with no prop, bent shaft, and bruised tailbone.
