I just got the oem mooring cover for my r3. They are spendy but worth it. I have the snap on covers as well and to be honest I hated them for trailering. I use mine year round for storage on the lift and so far (2 years) have had no mildew problems. Keep in mind that my climate is relatively dry, but if I remember correctly you're not too far away from me.
Diller your climate is dry? Last time I was in Texas I thought it was raining from all of the humidity
Lots of humidity on the East side of the State, but not nearly as much farther west. Where Houston averages about 75% relative humidity, Austin is closer to 65%.

So my dealer is still saying the OEM cover is $1,400 because they don't buy them from Cobalt but directly from the manufacturer. If anything I would think that would make the cover cost less. Does anyone know if I can try and buy one from a different dealer?

Can I ask what you are buying the mooring cover for? especially if you have the cockpit covers?
I have a love hate relationship with mine. I like it except for how it goes around my tower. It just has an open area that lets in rain, etc.
I am having a winter cover made right now that will go over my tower and down past my boot stripe. I am doing this instead of shrink wrap. I'll put it on in the winter and then go back to my mooring cover in the spring.

I'd just like to have more of the boat covered including the swim platform. Plus I think it looks nicer even thought that's probably a silly reason to get it.
