I have to head up that way next week. If you'd like me to go and inspect, I could help out. I like speeding other people's money too!

If it sits around all winter I might be able to make it work in the spring. It’s just not in the cards right now.

My lift only supports 6600lbs so I’d have to upgrade that, plus I don’t have a trailer. So I’d have to source one and ship the boat. So I’m thinking that is easily 10k there all together which I can’t part with right now.

There isn't much of a market for a 282 in this area. I suspect that boat will be on the market throughout the winter and into the spring.

A late December offer could be perfect. The shopping season for boats in the Toronto region starts mid-January with the Toronto Boat Show.

Long story short we have about 8 weeks to find you a trailer for that beast and you should start shopping for a new lift soon.

Haha the trailer would just be temporary. I’d put the 262 on it and list it. My 262 didn’t come with one, and I didn’t have anywhere to store one as where I keep my boat they won’t store a trailer.

I know my lift is upgradeable. It would probably just need larger floats.

You bet.. what color? Haha actually I’ve been designing some trailers recently for friends.

I may add that a typical 3 axel trailer for example ( yes it’s a 282 with twin bigs) from builders like EZ Loader are 9-10k. My previous owner had rack stored and boat housed our 282 it’s whole life . He purchased a brand new Trailer when he put it for sale. Makes sence and I was happy!

Price your trailers for this model or any model as it’s worth the $ . Your Cobalt will love you for it😎

Oh . I cover my trailer when not in use. I’m weird 😂

I really like that Canadian 282, but the lack of a trailer and the distance kept me from making an offer on it yet. I’ve actually been looking for a used trailer that would work and I plan to make an offer if I can find one at a good price.

It’s a really good buy Mr Hahn if you can find a trailer. I tried to talk the wife into it. But she said I need to keep the one we just bought earlier in the year a few more.

So I guess I’m holding out for an A28 in a few years 😜

If you only need the trailer for transport you can talk to your marina younslip at. I know the local Cobalt dealer is also marina and told me if I bought a boat from them without a trailer they would loan me one whenever I needed it, even for our trip down to LOTO next year. Just a thought.

You can buy a new aluminum I-beam triple-axled bunk trailer up here for about $4500 USD. Not in the league of what cmattj or Tuscany have, but should be quite adequate to make the trip from Canada (and we're really talking about 2.5 hrs from the US border at Buffalo) to anywhere in the US.

If you need help, PM me. Happy to assist a fellow CC'er.
