You will be VERY happy with the 21BR! My sister in law and her boyfriend have an 88 and it’s a great boat. The ride is really nice and it feels much bigger than a 21. We put a 454 in it so it is a rocket ship but the 5.7 should still be plenty of power for it. Have fun!

However, a friend suggests wet-sanding instead of buffing.

Looks to me like a good buffing would be all you need. Other more experienced will chime in.

Hard to tell when it's not in front of me but I agree just Looks like a 3 stage buff is all it will need. Check with your cobalt dealer you might be able to get new Cobalt flag plagues for the sides. I believe ours stocked them.

Yeah, I wouldnt sand that. 2 passes with a course buff using a wool pad. Then a good solid pass with fine using a yellow foam pad and a final pass with swirl remover using a white foam pad and she'll shine like a diamond in a goats arse.

Order some cotton balls for your dremel drill on Ebay and use your dremel around the letters and hardware.

Does it feel chalky? If not buff away with YT's little cotton Balls!
