My Niebhor has the “Jet Dock “ version and it’s interesting to watch him launch and retrieve.
Sure I have a small duo for my jet skis that I’m familiar with , but I’m wondering if you’ll need the stair case for everyone getting off. Plus since he gets over the side on the staircase it appears since the back is water line you may want to consider that.
It has a blower like my hydro hoist the brings the back portions up and also has the optional pull straps and pulleys to give it a tug either way.
I’m a fan for jet skis.. not so much for boating with friends and family. I vote lift.
No way I am going to power our boat up and out of the water onto one of those things. Nothing there to stop the bow other than the dock in front of me? Nothing to align the boat to the center of the EzPort?
Long day on the lake - a lemonade or two - and one slip of the throttle and the Bow of the boat is sitting on the dock in front of you while the lower unit chews through the plastic EZPort. Then after all that the boat is sitting 2 feet out of the water and I have to jump down to the dock?
Traditional HydroHoist all the way. Pull into the slip. Get everyone off the boat with it still in the water. Raise Boat. Done.
Serious question - that video makes it look like the boat just sits on the keel with no bunks to center or support it. I am assuming they make optional adjustable bunks to center the boat up and give it some support? My issue /w jumping out of the boat sitting up on the water like that still would be a big negative though.
Also looks like the lower hitting the back of the EzPort is what stops the boats forward momentum? Do you really want to bang the lower into that thing every time you pull the boat up onto it?

They make adjustable bunks. The way the heavier boats drive up works is the dock doesn’t have enough flotation to lift the boat so when you align the bow at the edge of the floating dock it partially sinks under the bow. The bow and keel guide aligns the boat on the dock, supported and guided by the bunks. You then get off and ad air to the ballast tanks and the rear of the dock floats up along with the boat. I’m not too concerned about running off the other end of the dock, I have Sea Doo experience. As to the “lemonades”, in our jurisdiction you can’t consume alcohol while operating a boat.
Although Id like one, aHydro Hoist isn’t an option at my marina, so it’s either the drive on, float up option or mooring in the water. The marina would be buying the thing and would then up my moorsge charge by $800.00 a year. I’m thinking if he puts it in and it doesn’t commit me to a number of years it it doesn’t meet my expectation, I might go ahead with it. I’m going to talk to EZ Port later this week to get more information.

I'm waiting for the dealer to tell me j=how much it costs to detail my hull and out drive each year and whether they can get it looking "showroom new". If they can do it for $500.00 each year, I'm inclined to just live the boat in the water for the 2.5 months.

I would for sure be paying the 1500 to hike the boat up out of the water. Like others have said leaving it in the water will lead to blisters on your hull. Or get the bottom painted. But I can tell you the second option is not a good one. Anyone looking for a fresh water boat will move on to the next if they see bottom paint.

not to mention it needs to be reapplied every couple years, looks like poo, and slows down the boat.

On the one hand, I have to consider what others have posted - that the EZ Dock system might be hard on the hull and cause scratches, with the counterpoint that leaving it in the water is bad for the gel coat. I can't haul the boat each time I want to use it so it either goes on an EZ Dock at extra cost or stays in the water.

The local ez dock dealer has a large booth at the Chicago Boat Show, I’m sure they’ll have some on display. I’ll try and snap some pics while I’m there.
