From my understanding the 252 became the 262. Because in 2008 they ditched the extended swim platform option and just had the molded platform. And started measuring LOA from bow to swim platform. Instead of the transom.

Welcome fellow LOTO neighbor, we just moved here in October. We are also looking to buy a 262, probably been considering some of the same boats!! (:

That’s also correct gents....
I’ll clarify my original comment. The
262 model that ran from 2000-2007 is a completely different hull from the
262 series hull that ran from 2008 to 2015.
Cobalt boats adopted the 2000-2007 262, 22 degree deadrise hull for the 272 which ran from 2008 to 2010.

Yes I think we have! I just read through your welcome post, I looked at that 262 you referenced, it is a sharp boat!

So I understand that there needs to be pics or it didn't happen....So here we are. Pulled the trigger today after the survey and sea trial (At 25 degrees, Dang that was cold!!!) both went off without a hitch. We are beyond excited to be part of the club now!
