Anchor fits, but trailer needs some modifications, too.

Tomorrow installing the winch is the next step

Looking good.

I'd never be able to cut that hole in my boat.

Man that is some great documentation S69! Thank you. I always wanted to see how thick that hull was at the bow and the makeup of the layers. Built like a tank.

Yours is the only 2000-2007 260 series model that I know of with this modification. 👍🏻

Single polished parts and at the end everything is welded.

Next step is polishing the weld.

Assembly at the boat next week!
Nicely stacked dimes on that weld.

Of course, I would have bought one, if it would be available.

If everything works well, maybe I produce a limited series of 10.
During the assembly some extras had to be made, that I didn’t expect during planing.

Wow, that's very interesting seeing the layers of the bow. Is that a wooden stiffener in there? And look how thick the gelcoat is. Amazing.

Thanks for sharing with us! It looks like you have it well at hand, but it would scare me to do something like that. I'm impressed at how the cut is on angles yet the bottom is level to the ground.

Yt from what I remember they put a membrane Between the layers to prevent water intrusion or something like that.

Not to derail the thread, but I took this pic at the factory because I couldn't believe how thick the fiberglass was at the bow. This was an R5:

Stellar work! Awesome you’re willing to offer these but I doubt there are many people brave enough to make those cuts on their boat. Maybe if there’s a glass shop that will do the work, still a major commitment for an anchor.

Just a small info! As easy that it starts, as worse it get’s in day three and ongoing. The wall thickness between the anchor room and the cabin is just 12mm wood, and no fiber glass at all. And the Upper edges, where the harness goes through are not closed to the cabin side. If you disassemble the back upholstery you see light, that came out of the open anchor chamber locker!

I will send you all more pics and infos next week, some infos directly, we will finally make it.

Now that part I knew about. Still, great that you are documenting this for others Nils. I'll try to keep up with rotating your pics as they come in. ;) (btw, if you take the picture in landscape mode they will display correctly on the computer when you go to upload them.

This is incredible craftsmanship.... agree I'd never be able to have the confidence to start making the cut for the hole. Now I'm even more glad I decided to add the windlass from the factory.

Is the fiberglass in that area already sealed? Just looking at the pictures, wondering if you'd need to do more fiberglass sealing to prevent any water intrusion with the mod. And the existing anchor locker already has a drain, right?
