I usually only see the discounts on cobalts site for the CS and the 10 series boats. Seems like they have no issues selling the R series and they do not get discounted the way the other 2 do.

I've heard of some dealers being resistant to budge off MSRP at all on popular boats during the summer, while others seem to be in the 20-25% range for a final deal (often off-season if you're pushing to get in this range). My sense is 30% wouldn't leave anything for them, and is pretty rare.

I think this is right. I think they don’t mind selling those cheap honestly because they are gaining a future sale of an R Series or better plus as long as they don’t lose money it is good cash flow and service money for dealerships.

If you go to build one on the Cobalt site, only the CS and 10 series offer a discount. But that discount I assume is probably a no haggle price. Also that discount is not as low as what they were doing at the boat show.

I could have had another few % off from a different dealer but I wanted to go with the dealer that was only 20 miles away, not the one that was 130 miles. Better than 20% is tough to achieve around here, especially with the strong economy. 24% is about 5% better than I did on my 2018 R5 but he did give me a killer deal on the trailer and gave me a deeper discount on the two Shorestation lifts I purchased with my boat. Service from that dealer has been great and they also handle winter storage, detailing, etc. I pick the boat up after it's long winter rest on Saturday!

Boat show discount is usually the best of the season. It is intended to drive production at the factory. With most brands it comes with the understaning that the dealer most reorder a similar boat to replace the one the manufacture helped to sell with the "BOAT SHOW DISCOUNT" pricing. Customer gets a deal, dealer gets a customer, manufacture sold 2 boats to the dealer with one rebate. Win Win Win

I’m sure it’s is all on geo location and the dealer. I went to the St Louis boat show, loto boat show, and Springfield MO boat shows. And I made a better deal on mine pre boat show.

Capitalism 101.. “supply and demand” always dictates market price.
When demand is lower, so is the price. High demand markets make it tough to negotiate, so timing becomes everything.

Interesting that people are getting discounts off the MSRP. I had assumed these boats were in such high demand that there weren't any discounts anymore. We are considering ordering a 2023 R6, in the Seattle area. Anyone had luck getting a decent discount of the MSRP in the Pacific NW? Also wondering if the timing would be good in the next month or so to order (not in a huge hurry), or if it would be best to wait until the big boat shows in February?

Pricing is trickling up, the dealer shares the build sheet options, last increase was July 15. Dealer also said Cobalt removed the 8% materials surcharge?? No reason given as to why?? I'm working on a '23 R8 and have a discount so far of 19%, DC area. I think I'm reaching the bottom, but not certain? In this market, does that seem like a good deal (for me?)
