There is ZERO clearance below the bilge drain opening, and the hull bottom. Then, there is a slight down angle on the transom so everything mounted must be above the angle of the bilge opening. My light fits sideways to clear the outdrive.
My plug has an Allen screw for a drain, which I was concerned over, but as long as the bilge is clear of junk, it drains perfectly. Worse comes to worse, it’s easy to remove without tangling any wires and open the drain fully.


The factory wiring end is located to starboard side of the battery charger option is mounted in the motor box. It’s labeled from the factory and very easy to find. Simply find or build the correct plug for the end of the light wire and plug it in. I had the Marina build me the correct plug. The helm button is pre-wired, so it’s a very simple electrical hook up

Appreciate the warning on the light hanging below the transom - definitely don't want that. Which model did you end up with? It doesnt look like the Titan that you linked. It also seems some of the lights screw right in where the drain plug is, and others (like the titan) require 3 screws into the boat?

I looked for the cable in my engine compartment and failed to find it. Would you mind snapping a pic? I found a number of accessory wires including "lights swim starboard"(pictured - I dont think this is it?)

FYI: I did confirm that the RGB would be 1/3 the lumens output from those that you just pick a color on.

I am not 100% sure but it is likely this piece. You just need the other end of it. You can turn on the accessory at the helm and stick a voltmeter in this and see if there is electric. I believe this is what you need to connect to it.

Yes, I went with straight blue.

I went with the offset “Electra” 8k in red. It did require a heat sink in line as a voltage regulator as it’s high output.
It kicks it above the hull line but it with Twins wasn’t a clearance issue. Just make sure the bottom of your drive does get in the way.

Thanks for the info guys. The light I ordered also has the voltage regulator. Mine is not the offset - the replacement drain plug is in the center of the light. I put a dive mask on and had a look at the current plug with a dive light underwater. It looks like it will fit on the R5. If it doesnt, the offset almost certainly will. Once I get the boat out of the water I'll see for sure..

Tusc/Norris - I don't think the connector I took a picture of is the correct one - it's labeled "Swim Platform Lights". There two buttons on the dash, one for Swim Platform Lights, and one for Underwater Lights. I can find no connector labeled Underwater Lights - wondering if this might be because the factory option also uses a voltage regulator. A picture would be great! What button do you push to turn the lights on?

Does anyone know if the connectors cobalt uses are standard and can be purchased? For a clean install, I'd prefer to us the same connector.

I will do some digging around this weekend. I have the swim platform lights on mine already just do not have the underwater lights.

Correct Connectors. A little engineering and you do not need their tool. Connectors for underwater lights are back there. Might just have to do some digging rear right and left side of the engine. One was near captains call connection. Pat

I'd just like to use a deutch connecter vs waterproof butt connectors for easy of install, removal, clean install etc. I figured I can make it crimp. If the temp falls in GA I'll get it done and take lots of pics.

Still have note found a connector labelled "underwater lights". I think the Cap Call connector is on the port side. Will have another look.

On the boat and just checked again. Can find nothing labeled Underwater Lights. Swim Platform Lights button delivers 12V to the connector on the starboard side.

Don’t care that much about it being the wrong button name, but would want to be sure it is fused correctly...

You can buy a pre-made pigtail with the connector already crimped. Then you only have to do a quick splice on the end of the light. I did this on my chartplotter and it worked flawlessly....about $7
