I trimmed up until it started to decrease my mph. Is it bad that I wasn’t able to hit that WOT? They fixed it and felt confident they had it right. So no new boat for now. I’m in this one well so prob trade up in a few summers.

Glad it's fixed.
Drive it with just you or another person in it. Half tank of gas or less even empty. You want to hit that range. If not you can lower your pitch of your prop. Cobalt and Volvo are normally very good at putting the right props on. Do you have a Sx drive single prop stainless steel and what pitch?

It’s a DP and not sure of the pitch but I’ll check it out tonight. Appreciate your info.

water was like glass or slight chop? when its smooth as glass you can actually lose speed as the water becomes "sticky"

Very true. 65 degrees out and some nice little chop and cool water she will fly. If I get the boat out of the garage I can normally run her to the 5k mark. We want to get that baby to perform. Where's dropping anchor. What's his running? I'm sorry but where do you boat?

I’m in Arizona. It was relatively smooth.

Yea im just saying you will not always achieve max RPM everyday. There are a lot of little factors that can have an effect on it. I wouldnt consider it a benchmark for the boat being completely fixed either.

Update! Took the boat out to enjoy my new speakers last Monday and guess what? Alarms started sounding and a burning smell began. This now makes it 5 times I’ve put in the water and have had to immediately take out. I’m done! Cobalt stated they stand behind the product but have no interest in helping me out besides “fix it”. My contact from dealer says he still has hope he can get me in something else. Cobalt reached out to VP and should have an update by Wednesday. If they don’t help me, my attorney thinks I have a good case and will proceed with litigation. Might be going back to Sea Ray after all of this. I haven’t had a good trip with this boat since August 15th and the fuel gauge was broken on that trip lol now it’s oil sensor and something with exhaust.

To date -

No successful trip since 08/2019
5 failed attempts after “fix”
Blower x2
Soft trac mat x2
Fuel injector
Water in fuel
Coil pack
Stress cracks
Fuel gauge x2
Oil sensor
Impeller 40 hrs
Over 50 days in shop

Let's just get them to do a 350hp in her and make you happy
Sorry man. Sucks to here. Hopefully and they should trade you out of it. Every brand has a issue here and there so don't lose fate. Oh it's malibu's fault!

I’m hoping for the best but damn they make it difficult. My guy from the dealer had me send him the new build id want. I left the boat the same and asked for the 6.2 DTS B3. Discussions between dealer, Cobalt and VP will happen today. I won’t give up and will fight them all the way of needed. I assume it will be more of a hassle for all of litigation begins.

Hey Murphy. Do you have a picture of your boat by chance. Too much with to see what it looked like. I hope they keep you happy. I think they will. Sometimes you just have to do what is right. Or pull your engine and engine harness and stuff a beauty in there. Keep the updates coming.
